Kids 'n' Things Academy Spring

During your time with us, you will spend one day a week participating in the Kids ‘n’ Things Academy, two days a week working with the team to learn and rehearse the holiday club programme, and two days a week with other children’s ministries.

You will also take part in running the Lionheart holiday club at a church in Wrexham, Wales. During the holiday club itself, you will be involved in various parts of the up-front programme. You will take part in puppet songs and stories as a puppeteer and will help to demonstrate the action songs we use. There may also be opportunities to teach bible verses or bible stories if you have skills in this area. As well as the performance element, there will be plenty of time for you to help alongside church members in small group activities with children, such as making crafts and playing games. The holiday club runs in the morning, between 10am and 12pm, so generally you will have some free time in the late afternoons, and you will have a full day off on Saturday.

Children's Program for Turkey's Field Retreat

Arrive in Antalya and travel to the retreat site.
Meet the 26 children (ages 1-18) of families serving in Turkey and begin a simple Bible based, VBS style program.
Meet frontline workers during breaks or the evenings and catch a vision for what God is doing in the least reach nation in the world.

Kids 'n' Things Academy - Online (April)

During the course you will:
• Develop your understanding of the heart God has for children.
• Gain understanding of how children learn, to increase the impact of your teaching.
• Develop skills, ideas and resources that can be used to create vibrant children’s ministry programmes.

Participants will join a small group in a virtual classroom for 2 sessions each Monday from 11:00-12:00 and then 13:00-14:00 (UK Time). The course will be delivered over a period of 10 weeks. There will be no session on the 29th May.

In addition to two online sessions per week, participants will complete assignments designed to further their understanding and to create plans and resources ready to be used in a variety of children’s ministry settings.

Church planting support - France

Do YOU want to see more church plants? Join us as we support a church seeking to plant two new churches in neighbouring towns by 2024!

The outreach will start with a short, uninterrupted time where we will refocus on God for ourselves by studying the Bible together, pray and worship together and encourage each other by sharing our testimonies. This will help us be ready to share the amazing news of the gospel with renewed joy and passion!

During the following days we will be working with members of the church to organise kids clubs in local parks, prayer walking in the areas where the new church plants will be as well as stepping out and sharing in the streets via music, flyering, artistic events etc.

The aim of these events is both to share Jesus’ love with the people of these towns, but also to show them that there will soon be a new church in their area where they can go to find out more!

Immersion

The programme consists of approximately 25% teaching/training in a classroom environment, and 75% field ministry experience. This field experience will primarily be focused on partnering with a local church to assist them in helping their church grow through internal ministry to its members, as well as external ministry to reach their local community.
A mentor will spend time each week with the student. Mentors will monitor the needs of each student, and students will be accountable to their mentors. These mentors will help participants adapt to the culture, minister effectively, and experience spiritual growth.

Changing Lives in Azuero Region

The Church Planting project has so many initiatives, we are using the arts, sports and personal development strategies to reach different communities with the Gospel. Participate in children programs, jail programs, prayers night, prayers walk, sports, and arts training.

The town of Chitre is a semi rural community and from there we will move to differents towns because they are spread in the Azuero region.

You will have the opportunity to share in schools, towns, streets, hills, mangrove swamp and even in the city. This outreach offers different minstries opportunities.

You will also have the opportunity to experience the Panamanian hospitallity as you will be working alongside 2 local Panamanian Churches.

The participant will serve mainly with the local church and the church members

Warmer winter for IDPs and vulnerable in Ukraine

Participants will work alongside Ukrainian volunteers to serve those left vulnerable because of the war in OM’s warmed Coffee tent in Rivne. You may find yourself sharing the gospel while serving coffee or tea, cleaning up, playing with small children, helping a mother with a crying baby or be someone to practice english with. Prayer will also be a big part of this ministry and might need to be organised by participants themselves or might simply be praying for people visiting the tent.

DOULOS HOPE Short Term Programme 8 February - 7 April 2023

Living and working alongside people from different nations gives you firsthand experience of what it takes to be a cross-cultural Christian worker. It is both challenging and enriching. The days will be filled with practical work in one of the ship’s departments (40hrs per week/ 8hrs per day). You will be able to participate in spiritual enhancing activities, prayer time, devotion etc and will be encourage to connect with locals whenever possible and visit local churches.
Participants Profile:
In good health, flexible, willing to learn. At least intermediate level of English.
Must possess a passport that is still valid for at least 6 months at the leaving date. Agree to abide by all ships policies. Must be fully vaccinated against covid 19.
