As a team, we love celebrating cultural diversity and building relationships with people from manynations. The Mehmon project supports people coming to Poland from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. We strive to accompany them inbuilding a new lifein our country.

One of the many cultures we often encounter is that of people of Persian origin—from Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and neighboring nations.

Our Middle Eastern Tea Room is a weekly gathering where representatives of Persian and Arab culture can meet each other, as well as Poles who are interested in these nations.

We also hold Christian meetingsin Persian: there is time for Bible study, prayer, and singing. This is an opportunity to provide pastoral care for Persian-speaking people for whom Polish or English is a barrier and who are looking to connect with other Christians.

WHAT IS NOWRUZ?

Nowruz, or Persian New Year, is a holiday that marks the arrival of spring. It features many symbols associated with new beginnings, new life, purification, and eternity. These symbols relate to questions and narratives that we often associate with Easter.

Thisyear,Nowruz falls onMarch 20, and on Tuesday, March 19, we are organizing an eventatthe House of Culture to celebrate this occasion, which will featureelements of Persian culture: food, music, and dance. We invite you to celebrate with us!
