George Verwer, the founder of OM, has passed away at the age of 84. We are grateful for his life, dedicated to sharing God’s love around the world. George led OM for 45 years, and after stepping down from leadership, he actively supported the global mission. George passed away surrounded by his family at his home in the suburbs of London on Friday, April 14, 2023.

In 2015, George expressed what had motivated him for many years after he reached retirement age: “My greatest desire is for every person in the world to have the opportunity to encounter the message of the Gospel at least once in their lifetime. I hope to share God’s love until my last breath.”
