The Chamoun/Szemraj Duo
Concert at 3:00 p.m. – free admission (reservations required)
What happens when the Slavic soul meets the sensibilities of the Near and Far East? How close is the connection between Polish folk songs and an Afghan wedding? Join us on a musical journey to the lands of the Orient, evoking nostalgia and fascination, solace and inspiration.
Adeb Chamoun hails from the picturesque town of Hasaka in Syria. He plays Arabic, Persian, and Latin American percussion instruments, such as the riq, darabuka, tar, daf, cajón, conga, and others.
Mateusz Szemraj plays various stringed instruments, primarily plucked ones—including guitars and ethnic instruments such as the oud, rubab, sarod, cymbals, and ngoni.
Adeb has collaborated with many well-known Polish and international artists, while Mateusz has co-founded numerous bands and musical projects. They will be performing once again on the stage of Dom Kultury.
