Chinese Culture Day at the House of Cultures. Tea ceremony.

What happens when we travel to the Far East with friends from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, America, and Africa? On one Saturday in April, we searched together for beauty, inspiration, and deep meanings in Chinese culture—and it was an extraordinary journey.

Other elements of this celebration were prepared by Chinese people living in Poland, who also pointed out regional diversity and even linguistic differences. We heard songs in both Mandarin and Cantonese. Beautiful costumes, symbols, and decorations transported us into a festive atmosphere. The tea ceremony, the art of calligraphy, paper cutouts, original sweets, and endearing kindness—these elements invited openness, which helped us appreciate and understand the sensitivity of our friends from China.

Everything was tied together by a profound spiritual narrative: for many participants, China is naturally associated with Buddhism, yet the Christian message is very present in both historical tradition and contemporary China. Our guests effortlessly connected their identity with the message of reconciliation with God.

This valuable meeting was one of many intercultural events taking place at Dom Kultury – we invite you to follow the calendar and join us on our journeys to the "ends of the earth"!
