Discover the history of one of the villages on Lake Tanganyika!

More than 10 million people live on the shores of Lake Tanganyika across four different countries: Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Burundi. Many of these people live in remote fishing villages and small towns that can only be reached by boat. Neither real help nor the message of hope from the Gospel reaches many of these people—many practice syncretism with traditional beliefs.

For most people, fishing is the primary source of income. Fathers who are away from home fishing are physically and emotionally absent, which leads to many family problems, children and adolescents left without care, and underage prostitution. In many villages, access to healthcare and education is very limited.
